Nantwich residents are being encouraged to don their best festive gear for a Dabbers Dash in the form of a Santa Fun Run in support of YMCA Cheshire.

The free community event takes place next Saturday (December 20th) at 9am starting in Barony Park near the Cornthwaite Group John Deere dealership and finishing on Sandford Road.

Open to all ages and abilities, participants can complete up to 3.5 laps of the park (5km) or move at their own pace.

Pride flags will mark the start and finish points, underlining commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Santa hats and festive antlers will be available for a donation, with all proceeds supporting the work of YMCA Cheshire, which provides services to prevent homelessness and build brighter futures for young people.

Founder and event organiser Paul McIntyre (pictured) said: “The Santa Dash is all about community spirit — bringing people together, having fun, and supporting a cause that transforms young lives.

“Whether you run, walk, or wheel, everyone is welcome to join in and celebrate the season.”

YMCA Cheshire, founded in Crewe in 1909, delivers housing, learning, family support, children’s programmes, and social enterprise schemes across the region, offering young people the building blocks of a safe home, stability, and opportunity.

Dabbers Dash began in 2022 as a virtual Parkrun alternative, created to promote active travel and campaign for a perimeter path around Barony Park.

Participants are reminded they take part at their own risk and are asked to respect other park users.
