cadent gas works in nantwich

Nantwich motorists are being warned of more delays due to a six-week programme of gas pipe works at one of the town’s busiest junctions.

The works by Cadent are taking place at the junction of Newcastle Road and Ellwood Way, and will start on February 17th.

It will mean the use of multi-way traffic signalling at the junction.

There are also planned gas pipe works further down the route on London Road close to Regent’s Park between February 9th and 25th.

A Cadent Gas spokesperson said: “We’re carrying out important maintenance works on our equipment, this activity ensures that we can continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to local businesses and residents.

“We look after the gas pipes in your area. We make sure the pipes that bring the gas to your home keep you safe, warm and connected.

“We’re replacing the old pipes with new plastic ones which will mean that you’ll be ready for greener gas in the future.

“We’ll have to turn off your gas supply during some of our works and may need access to your home.”

Meanwhile, the works are continuing on the A51 Nantwich Bypass by the Peacock roundabout to install a new pedestrian footway and crossing.

These works have seen the closure of the A51 between Peacock and Alvaston roundabouts between 9.30am and 3.30pm in the day.
