ADHD talk in Nantwich

A 60-minute public talk exploring ADHD, how it affects everyday life, is to be staged in Nantwich.

The event aims to show how a greater understanding of the condition can help people manage challenges and strengths of a neurodivergent brain.

The talk will be delivered by Andy Stone at Nantwich Youth and Community Centre, Birchin Lane, in February 24th.

Andy was diagnosed with ADHD and autism in childhood and spent decades struggling with poor mental health and addiction before turning his life around.

By learning how his ADHD brain works and building practical coping strategies, Andy went on to become 10 years sober, achieve a Guinness World Record in triathlon, and develop what he calls the six pillars of health to support wellbeing, focus and resilience.

He said: “I spent 40 years struggling with ADHD, poor mental health and addiction.

“Once I understood how my brain works, everything changed.

“I now want to help others gain self-knowledge, build self-esteem and fulfil their potential, while also helping neurotypical people better understand what it’s like to live with neurodiversity.”

The talk will take place from 7pm and it will include:

– Key differences between the ADHD brain and the neurotypical brain
– Why people with ADHD often experience “all-or-nothing” thinking and the role of hormones
– The strong links between ADHD and addiction
– Practical coping strategies and symptom-management techniques
– How Andy harnessed ADHD to achieve a Guinness World Record in endurance sport

The talk is suitable for people with ADHD, those supporting someone with ADHD, and educators or professionals wanting clearer, more accurate insight.

Tickets are £10 per person, with limited capacity. Advance booking is recommended.
