Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was badly injured in a collision with a van.

The incident happened on Manor Way in Crewe at around 12.50am on Sunday (February 22nd)

Officers found that the collision occurred between a pedal cyclist and a Volkswagen Crafter van.

The cyclist, a 62-year-old local man sustained serious injuries and was subsequently taken to Leighton Hospital, where he remains at this time.

His injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

PoliceĀ  are now appealing to anyone with any information to come forward.

Sgt Jon Dixon, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Enquiries are currently underway to fully establish the circumstances of this incident and, as part of our investigation, we are now asking anyone who has any information or witnessed the incident itself to come forward.

“I would also like to appeal to any motorists who were in the area at the time around the time of the collision or may have captured anything they believe could help our investigation on dashcam to contact us.

“Anyone with any information, CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact Cheshire Police via the website, or on 101, quoting IML-2275539.”
