The Need Golf centre in Reaseheath near Nantwich has been shortlisted for a top national England Golf award.

The centre, off the main route between Nantwich and Worleston, is nominated for Top 3 Golf Facilities in England.

And now the popular centre is set to undergo a fresh with renovations due to start March 2nd, although the centre will remain open throughout that week.

Sophie Need, director at the centre, said upgrades will be completed in stages.

It will see new seating and benches in each bay, new carpeting throughout the range, and a wider facility refresh.

Sophie said: “It’s part of our continued investment into raising standards even further.”

The centre has come a long way from the agricultural field on the edge of Nantwich from six years ago.

It has been shortlisted for another national honour ahead of hundreds of others across the country.

Sophie said: “Six years ago this was simply a field!

“Today, it’s one of the leading golf facilities in England and a thriving community hub for Nantwich. We’ve built something deliberately different, modern, inclusive and ambitious.

“This recognition reflects not only our team’s dedication but the strength of the community that has grown with us.

“We’re proud to be leading the way in how golf is experienced and who it’s for and we’re even prouder that Nantwich is home to one of the most progressive golf facilities in the country.”

The England Golf Awards recognise excellence in customer experience, innovation, coaching development and growing the game.

Sophie added: “We haven’t just created a driving range. We’ve built a modern community hub.

“A place where families spend time together, where juniors are introduced to the game in record numbers, where women feel visible and represented, and where complete beginners feel genuinely comfortable walking through the door.

“We’ve helped break down outdated perceptions of golf and replaced them with something more inclusive, energetic and accessible.

“Participation locally has grown significantly, and we are seeing players who started with us as beginners now progressing through structured coaching pathways.”

Golfers now travel to Nantwich from across the UK and internationally to train with former pro James Need, whose online academy is one of the fastest growing in the country.

He also has a social media following of more than 250,000.
