Wrenbury Primary School is celebrating 150 years of educating youngsters in and around the village near Nantwich.

And now its staff are inviting residents to share their stories and help shape a lasting legacy.

Since opening its doors in 1876, the school has been a place of learning, friendship, and shared memories for generations of pupils, families, staff, and neighbours.

The school has launched a year-long celebration and is inviting the wider community to join in commemorating its rich history.

To bring the school’s history to life, Wrenbury Primary School is asking past and present pupils, families, staff and local residents to share 150 stories that have shaped the school’s journey.

Contributions may include personal memories of school days, teachers, lessons, friendships; reflections on how the school and community have changed over time; and photographs, artefacts, memorabilia or documents linked to the school’s history.

Stories and items will form part of a collection of memories that will be showcased throughout the year.

“Reaching 150 years is a remarkable achievement for any school,” said headteacher Rebecca Charlesworth.

“Our history is made up of countless personal stories – of pupils who started school here, of staff who have taught and supported our community, and of families who have shared in our journey.

“We are inviting everyone connected to Wrenbury Primary School to help us celebrate by sharing their memories and being part of this special year.

“We’re also looking ahead to a summer community celebration event, where we hope to bring past and present together to honour our heritage and create a lasting legacy for future generations.”

Stories and memories can be submitted by emailing [email protected]

Physical artefacts or memorabilia can be brought to the school reception on any Friday between 2pm and 3.30pm.
