Nantwich Town U18s produced an entertaining display to defeat Chorley FC U18s 5–3 in the North West Youth Alliance at the Swansway Stadium.
In a lively contest on the main pitch, the young Dabbers showed attacking intent throughout, finding the net five times to secure a confidence-boosting victory ahead of their upcoming cup final.
After the match, manager Steve Newman praised his side’s performance and mindset.
He said: “It was a really pleasing performance, especially going forward.
“The lads showed great character and quality in possession, and to score five goals at this level is always encouraging.
“We know there are areas to tighten up, but overall it’s the perfect way to build momentum going into a big week.”

The result serves as ideal preparation for Nantwich’s biggest game of the season as they turn their attention to the Cheshire FA U18 Youth Cup Final against Macclesfield FC U18 Elite.
The final takes place this Sunday 29th March, 2pm kick-off, at Cheadle Heath Sports Club.
Nantwich booked their place in the final with a 4–2 semi-final victory over Runcorn Linnets U18s in February.
Pickles starred with a superb hat-trick, including a standout free-kick, while Townsend added the fourth to seal progression.
