Wrenbury Primary School near Nantwich has launched its 150th anniversary celebrations with a flag-raising ceremony.
Following the school’s spring service, the whole school community gathered around the flagpole for the special moment.
The commemorative anniversary flag was raised by headteacher Rebecca Charlesworth, alongside staff and pupil representatives from across the school.
It marks the start of a programme of events to celebrate the school’s rich 150-year history and its ongoing role at the heart of the village community.
The flag now stands in pride of place at the front of the school building, serving as a visible symbol of this milestone year.
Headteacher Ms Charlesworth said: “It was a really special moment to bring our whole school together to mark the start of our 150th celebrations.
“Seeing pupils from every class involved reflects the strong sense of community that has always been at the heart of Wrenbury Primary School.
“This is just the beginning of a year of celebration, as we look forward to sharing more moments with our wider community.”
The school is continuing to invite past and present pupils, families and local residents to be part of the celebrations by sharing memories and stories, helping to create a lasting legacy for future generations.
