Nantwich’s famous outdoor brine pool is to open on April 10th for the new 2026 season.
The facility – one of the only inland brine pools left in the UK – is a popular destination for many swimmers.
Based at Nantwich Leisure Centre on Wall Lane, the pool will soon be open for bookings which are required via operators Everybody Leisure.
This year’s opening date is a couple of weeks earlier than previous years.
In 2025, the pool re-opened for summer on April 26.
Everybody members will be able to book eight days in advance, and seven days in advance for non members.
To secure a session at the outdoor pool, visit https://everybody.org.uk/locations/nantwich/swimming-pool/outdoor-swimming-pool/ for more details.
The outdoor pool has six lanes, its depth ranges from 0.9m in shallow end to 2.3m in deep.
It first opened to the public on the 1st July 1935 and the pool water temperature is now maintained at 22°c and through solar gain is usually much warmer.
An Everybody spokesperson said: “Some of our older customers still reminisce about their school days at the pool, when they claim the water was only just above freezing point and they happily swam in it!
“We are excited to welcome everyone for a swim in our outdoor brine pool this season!”

I do wish people would stop and think before posting ridiculous comments.
I remember going once in the 70’s and a turd floated by, hopefully it’s a bit better run these days 🙂
