Nantwich-based care firm SureCare Central Cheshire have introduced the Whzan Blue Box as a way of keeping a closer eye on client wellbeing.
The Blue Box allows carers to take key health readings such as heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels.
These are used to create a quick National Early Warning Score (NEWS2) — the same system used by the NHS to spot early signs that someone’s health might be changing.
It means carers should be able to pick up on small changes sooner and get the right help more quickly.
Each Blue Box contains a tablet and Bluetooth health tools that connect securely to a cloud system.
This means carers, and if appropriate GPs or family members, can review up-to-date information.
SureCare registered manager Sarah Castelow said: “Our adoption of Whzan Digital Health demonstrates our commitment to integrating technology with compassionate, person-centred care.
“It allows us to provide proactive support, enhance wellbeing, and giving families peace of mind.
“The Blue Box is a great support to all of our clients, particularly those that have live-in care packages and have a dedicated box for their sole use.”
SureCare senior carer Lauren Doherty is also taking the Blue Box to events such as coffee and luncheon clubs in rural communities around Nantwich.
She added: “It’s been brilliant to meet those in the local community and use the Whzan Blue Box to encourage those who are putting off booking a check-up with the GP to get them booked in.”
One client said: “It’s been great to come in and have my blood pressure checked.
“I’m meant to do it at home, but I struggle to put the cuff on, and getting out to the GP to get it checked isn’t easy.”
