A three-year campaign to improve a busy junction in Stapeley, Nantwich, has been completed.
Improvement works have been carried out to the camber at the junction of London Road and Peter De Stapleigh Way.
Ward councillors Geoff Smith and John Priest say they are “delighted with the outcome” after works were carried out over three days last week.
Residents had complained of noise and house-shaking vibrations caused by lorries passing over the camber.
Cllr Priest said: “This issue had been a running sore with residents for years and one of our promises on being elected was to deal with this well being issue for Stapeley.
“We are pleased that these works have finally been prioritised and the outcome is a huge improvement for the local area.”
Cllr Smith added: “We were elected to get things done.
“For a long time our residents have asked for this issue to be dealt with and now it’s done. I’m delighted with the outcome.”
Both councillors, who also represent Nantwich South on Nantwich Town Council, said they remain “committed to listening to the community and tackling the issues that matter most to local people”.

What about the A51 between there and bridgemere garden centre parts are like a plowed. Field and the road often floods Cheshire east Council are a absolute disgrace to put it mildly without swearing 🤬
only taken 22 yrs amazed that on day one they didn’t spot they were tarmacking over giant mole hills, shocking road who signed that off??
What a shame they’ve left massive holes and uneven surface when you go through the lights towards cheerbrook farm ! I’ve a low wheel base car and I have to drive outwards to avoid hitting them everyday ! And what a shame that this junction is soon to be hammered by the huge increase in traffic from the 4 housing developments currently going through from Broad Lane , London Road , batherton Lane & others , so sing the councils praises but yet again a job half done & wont be long before the toll on the junction takes hold yet again !
That’s good news…
Perhaps the councilors could do the same for the residents along Audlum road from the traffic lights to the park road junction.
The road is in a very poor state indentations pot holes and just cracked road surface especially at the zebra crossings.
HGV in particular make thunderous noise when driving over this area which can be heard inside our property and our neighbours …..we live four properties in along Delamere Road our house can also rattle as well.
Can you sort the road surface out along this stretch of road way along with speeding…
Frustrated residents..
When are the roads outside Brine Leas School and Newcastle Road and Elworth way junctions going to be improved? They’re in a terrible state!
