Wistaston Jubilee Tennis Club will officially open its newly renovated tennis courts with a special community event.
The celebrations will take place on Saturday June 13th at the club’s courts on Church Lane, Wistaston.
Guests are invited to arrive from 9.30am ahead of the official opening ceremony at 10am.
The event will continue until 1.30pm with a morning of family activities, entertainment and tennis.
Founded in 1977 to mark the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the club has grown into a thriving community hub.
It has around 100 members playing on its two floodlit courts behind Wistaston Memorial Hall and Community Centre.
The club launched a bid to raise £15,000 for the courts to unlock match funding from Sport England.
But their fundraiser smashed the target and raised £42,000.
Organisers say the opening marks “a new chapter for our community” as the all-weather astro-turf tennis courts are officially unveiled to residents, supporters and local families.
The Mayor of Cheshire East Council is also expected to attend the celebrations.
A representative from Wistaston Jubilee Tennis Club said: “This is a hugely exciting moment for our club and the wider community.
“The support we’ve received throughout the fundraising campaign has been absolutely incredible and we can’t wait to officially open the new courts.
“We’d love to see as many people as possible come along on the day, enjoy the activities, meet our members and celebrate this fantastic achievement together.”
