Hundreds of villagers came out in force to celebrate another colourful Bunbury Village Day.
Organisers hailed the annual event another great success, attracting nearly 1,000 paying adults.
Alongside them were hundreds of children, performers, exhibitors, volunteers and stallholders, who all enjoyed this year’s Wild Bunbury celebration.
Blessed with warm sunshine and the occasional gusty breeze, the day featured a colourful parade, spectacular arena attractions, live music, family games, wildlife displays and community activities throughout the afternoon and evening.
Visitors enjoyed a range of wildlife experiences alongside the familiar highlights including the parade through the village, Rose Queen celebrations, an array of stalls, BBQ and Bar, live music, brass band, Morris dancers and family entertainment.

Wildlife organisations taking part on the day included Gauntlet Birds of Prey and their breath-taking flying displays, Cheshire Wildlife Trust showcasing work protecting wildlife across the county, Creepy Crawly Show and its range of creatures including snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, lizards, hissing cockroaches, and Let’s Farm and work they do at their community farm supporting young people with learning disabilities.
Also present were Mid-Cheshire Beekeepers Association offering insight into the fascinating world of beekeeping, Northwich Hedgehog Rescue providing advice on how to support hedgehogs in our own gardens, and Bunbury Gardening Club highlighting local planting and wildlife-friendly gardening.

Organisers have already received lots of positive feedback, with many visitors highlighting the wildlife theme, the variety of attractions and the wonderful atmosphere.
Debby Pulford, on the organising team, said: “The occasion once again demonstrated the strength of community spirit in Bunbury and the dedication of the many volunteers, performers, exhibitors, sponsors and supporters who helped make it such a memorable day.”
