A young Nantwich man found hanged was today named by friends as Ben Jones.
The 22-year-old’s body was found by a passerby hanging from the footbridge over the River Weaver, close to Nantwich Pool.
Police cordoned off the area after the grim discovery at around 5.45am yesterday (April 24).
Messages paying tribute to Ben, from Nantwich, have been posted by friends on social sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Cheshire Police have yet to formally identify the body, but say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
The coroner is likely to open an inquest into the death in the next couple of days.
