For the second time in a week Nantwich CC’s bid to get their league campaign back on track was scuppered by rain.
Not a single ball was bowled in their home game against Widnes at Whitehouse Lane, both teams taking seven points.
It follows last weekend’s postponement away at Macclesfield, and leaves Andrew Newton’s side in ninth place in Cheshire County Premier League more than 60 points adrift of leaders Oxton.
They will be hopoing for more luck when they travel to face Urmston this Saturday June 23.
The 2nd team’s match away at Grappenhall was also victim of the rain, leaving them fourth in the 2nd Division.
But the 3rds had more joy, completing a comfortable four-wicket victory against Toft yesterday (June 17) after skittling their opponents out for just 118.
It continues a fine season for the 3rds, who are now top of Division 3 by four points ahead of Grappenhall, having played one game less.
The 4th team’s game at Runcorn was also abandoned because of the weather. They sit in sixth place in Division 3 West.
