Crewe Vagrants are celebrating after winning the T20 Finals Day of the North Staffordshire and South Cheshire Cricket League.
The Willaston-based team had to come through two rounds to make it to Finals Day.
They beat Newcastle & Hartshill CC in the semi-final by just five runs in a tight contest.
And they went on to meet Stafford CC 1sts in the final, who beat Blythe CC 2nds in their semi.
In the final, Stafford batted first and they were quick out of the blocks reaching 76/2 in the seventh over before they lost their Sri Lankan professional Himasha Liyange due to a run out.
This was a turning point as the Crewe spinners started slowing down the run rate.
Stafford eventually reached 139/8 in their 20 overs with Rory Kalnins (3/15) Bharath Sriramula (2/10) and Faisal Mahmood (2/35) sharing the wickets.
Crewe Vagrants started well with a 51-run partnership between captain Ryan Briddon (34) and Bharath Sriramula (12) though a couple of quick wickets caused the run rate to drop.
Sam Youds and Cal Meakin steadied the innings with a 41-run partnership before Meakin departed for 19.
Youds and Mahmood then pushed on and passed the Stafford total with 2.2 overs to spare, sparking big celebrations at the Vagrants club.
Mahmood finished on 15 not out and Youds 47 not out, including three huge sixes, to take them past the Stafford score and crown the team as winners.
Youds was also named Player of the Day for his performances across the two games as Crewe CC celebrated the first piece of silverware awarded in the 2026 NSSCPCL season.
