Kate with daughter Poppy, the inspiration behind Gaia

A Shavington woman who launched a teaching business to help children with ADHD and autism has been shortlisted in national entrepreneur awards.

Kate Longworth, CEO of Gaia Learning, has been named as a finalist in the 2025 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

Kate has been shortlisted in the Technology Entrepreneur of the Year category, sponsored by de Novo Solutions.

She heads up a small business of 15 people who run nationwide and support children who struggle in school.

Kate says she was inspired to launch the business because of the experience of her 11-year-old daughter Poppy (pictured with Kate).

Known as “The Grammys of Entrepreneurship”, the awards celebrate exceptional and inspiring business stories from across the UK.

Past winners include the founders of BrewDog, Grenade, ClearScore, Zilch, and Unbiased.

Kate said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be named a finalist.

“It’s an incredible honour to be recognised alongside some of the UK’s most exciting and ambitious businesses.

“This recognition is a huge testament to the hard work of our team and our mission to create inclusive, personalised education that empowers neuro-divergent learners to thrive.”
