A petrol station in Nantwich could soon have a Greggs and Burger King outlet.
Motor Fuel Group, who run the filling station at Morrisons in Nantwich, has applied for planning permission to build the food outlets.
They want to amend a previous planning application to include an extension to its sales building to include the two food counters on either side.
There are also plans to create an EV charging zone and erection of substation enclosure, LV panel, meter cabinet and jet wash bays, plant room, and associated works.
A new Greggs and Burger King will also help create up to 30 new jobs, states the application.
Agents Carney Sweeney said: “This application now seeks an amended scheme which includes an additional extension to the southern end which is proposed to be occupied by Greggs Bakery.
“The extension to the north of the kiosk is proposed to be occupied by Burger King.”
The application says “food to go” outlets are considered “appropriate and supported” within the town centre boundary.
“It is considered the extension would not impact upon residential amenity.
“The site is located on the west of Pratchetts Row. No changes are proposed to the existing site access.
“It is not expected that the proposed development will cause any increase in traffic on the surrounding highway network, due to the ancillary nature of the retail offering and expected use of the site by the passing motorist.”
Residents have until August 13 to air their views as part of the public consultation.

About time we were getting some update on this
Cheshire please be reminded of the number of objections to these proposals
There not going away!!
Utterly ridiculous and not needed
This is a high residential area and thus unsuitable for this proposal.
Town councillors it’s tome to make a stand
Just another nail in Nantwich town.
Why Morrisons agree to that is unbelievable.
More rubbish food and rubbish on the street.
Block this counsilors if you have the nerve
Is Greggs better than McDonalds?……….who cares…….neither needed.
I can see the rubbish now
Greggs better. Highly processed food from a conveyor belt of mass production. It’s for some but for me.
If you want a good pie, a good slice of cake try the new rolling pin bakery in welsh row. Small independent made fresh everyday. Be quick they sell out everyday…they don’t keep any in the back and wheel it out for later.
Yeah, a McDonalds would of been better, but it’s a step in the right direction.
I sometimes eat and thoroughly enjoy this “junk” food but I’m not obese……I think it’s summat to do with “freedom of choice” of which the nay-sayer’s seem to forget we have.
I suppose this was going to happen sooner or later. But to say there will be no vehicular increase is stupid. Those want to eat a burger at 8am or 8pm will make that journey to get one. Therefore impacting on the residents on Pratchetts Row.
And litter? What plans are there in place to keep the area clean and the hot spots where people gather such as the lake parking areas and Barony park parking both of which already suffer litter from other similar outlets in Crewe.
I suppose those “when” the old B&M site is occupied we’ll need a Burger King to add to the dining out options for those housed there, other than subway !
A McDonald’s would have been much better but at least Greggs is a step forward.
Research has identified beyond doubt, the more junk food outlets in a town results in higher rates of obesity.
We live in a country where the population eat enough rubbish. No doubt they will get planning permission.
There is an obesity problem in the Country it costs the NHS Billions of pounds, so lets add to it. We must give the population the freedom of choice !!!!
Let the NHS and the tax payer pick up the increasing bill for people’s life style choices.
