bryony page picks up MBE at Windsor Castle

Olympic trampolining gold medallist Bryony Page has collected her MBE from Windsor Castle.

Page, who went to Brine Leas and Malbank schools growing up in Nantwich, received her honour from HRH Princess Royal yesterday (July 22).

She started her trampolining career as a youngster in nearby Wrenbury and attending sessions at the Wingate Centre.

Page is now a vice president at the centre where she returns most years to work with children and help fundraise.

A spokesperson for the centre said: “Congratulations to our amazing Vice President, Bryony Page MBE!

“From starting her trampoline journey right here at The Wingate Centre to becoming an Olympic gold medallist and now receiving an MBE at Windsor Castle from HRH The Princess Royal, what an incredible achievement!

Bryony Page gold medal World Championships“We’re so proud of Bryony, and we are grateful for her continued support for the centre.”

Page was recognised with an MBE in the Kings New Year’s Honours “for services to Trampoline Gymnastics”.

She is the Olympic, World, European and British trampoline champion, and won Gold at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where she registered a monumental score of 56.480.

It completed her Olympic medal set after winning bronze in Tokyo 2020 and silver in Rio 2016.

Page said: “Being honoured with an MBE means so much to me and hopefully for the trampoline community in Great Britain and all those who have helped and supported me in my sporting career.

“I could not have reached the heights I have in sport without so many people’s commitments, contributions and expertise.

“This MBE is a wonderful accolade to be awarded after such a fantastic year for me, one that I am incredibly proud of, but very importantly I feel it is in recognition of years of dedication and efforts of my support team around me.

“I hope that with what we have achieved together, and this being recognised in such a special way by The King and Royal Family, it inspires others to believe in themselves and remember to enjoy themselves whilst working to achieve their goals.”

Sarah Powell, British Gymnastics CEO, said: “There could not be anyone more deserving of this honour than Bryony – not just because of her historic achievements in taking trampoline gymnastics to new heights and the way she has gone about doing that, but also because of everything she has given to the sport and local communities alongside that.

“As one of Britain’s leading sportswomen she is a tremendous role model for future athletes, and we are immensely proud to have her as a representative of gymnastics.”
