The Wingate Centre in Wrenbury near Nantwich is celebrating two major nominations in the Independent Gymnastics Association (IGA) Awards 2025.

Head of sport & recreation Natalie has been shortlisted for “Coach of the Year”.

And the centre itself is a finalist for the “Beyond Inclusion Award”.

Both categories recognise outstanding commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and community impact in gymnastics and beyond.

A spokesperson for the Wingate Centre said: “The nominations reflect the work of the entire team.

“From sports & recreation to fundraising, client engagement and administration, every part of the organisation plays a role in running programmes that are inclusive, accessible, and designed to meet the needs of those the centre supports.”

Natalie has worked at The Wingate Centre for nine years.

She has a background in PE and special needs education, and has developed activities including Rebound Therapy, Disability Fitness, and Gymnastics.

Her focus is on building confidence, encouraging participation, and improving wellbeing.

The centre, founded in 1988 by parents who saw the benefits of gymnastics for children with disabilities, has remained committed to making sport and physical activity open to everyone.

A young Bryony Page began her trampoline gymnastics career at the centre as she grew up in Wrenbury.

The triple Olympic medallist is now vice president of the centre and she returns often to help with fundraising.
