
Audlem, AFC Dishers, Nantwich Pirates, Nantwich Town and Alderman FC were all knocked out in the first round of the Cheshire Sunday Challenge Cup.
Some games were decided by penalties, including Audlem’s, or two very late goals which knocked out Pirates.
George and Dragon, Cooper Buckley and Sandbach Town all progress to the second round by means of walkovers as their opponents withdrew from the competition before a ball was kicked.
The sole Crewe Regional Sunday League team who will play in the second round after winning their game is Lostock Gralam S&E, who beat fellow CRSFL club Nantwich Town on the Barony 2-4.
The second round of games in the Cheshire Cup will be played on 5th October.
No games were played in the Crewe Regional Sunday Premier Division, as an injury and work commitment struck Cheshire Cat were forced to abandon their game against George & Dragon due to a lack of available players.
This will result in a scoreless victory for G&D.
There was also a postponement in Division 1 as no referee arrived to officiate the game between Ruskin Park and White Horse. The fixture will be replayed later in the season.
It was a wet morning on the Brittles as C&N faced off against NHB in a very close game.
The second half, whilst not one sided, was won by the away side, who scored three more goals to take the points in a 1-4 victory.
NHB goals were scored by Jimmy Studley (2), Pete Aidley and James Heraty. Jack Cope scored a penalty for C&N.
Inter Arena and Crewe Rovers were looking for their first win of the season, and it was the home side who came out on top with an emphatic 7-0 victory.
Lorcan Chiltern scored a brace, and other goals were scored by Billy Jani, Kobe Matambira, Fin Tudor, Liam Sumner and Sam Sumner.
