Howard Barlow photo montage - camera club event

Nantwich Camera Club is restarting its programme of talks, competitions and events to mark its 45th season.

The club is keen to alert local photographers and anyone interested in reportage style images about a special event planned.

On Tuesday 16th September, professional photographer Howard Barlow will visit the club to give a talk “Retrospective: 50 years as photojournalist, music photographer and street photographer”.

Nantwich Camera Club chairman John Kay said: “Howard’s photography is superb and his output is very varied.

“Somehow he manages to capture the essence of the person in his images, whether he is photographing weddings, musicians we all know of, or people in the street, some of his photos of life in Manchester and Salford are incredible.

“His photographs of political characters are truly second to none; there are some great images that really express the character of such leaders as Maggie Thatcher, Tony Benn and the like.”

The event will be held at Regents Park, London Road, and starts at 7.30pm. Onsite parking is limited for what may well be a busy event, so do arrive early.

There will be tea/coffee and biscuits and a chance to buy one of Howard’s signed books.

For a photographer of his calibre, the book isn’t at all expensive plus the cost of admission is just the normal visitor fee of £2.50.
