Crewe and Nantwich community radio station The Cat (107.9FM) are hosting a quiz in memory of Chris Hughes, one of TV’s Eggheads.
Chris, from Crewe, died suddenly earlier this year.
The quiz will take place on Thursday September 25th in Crewe Market Hall and we will be raising money for St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice.
Each of the four teams who won one of The Cat’s weekly quizzes throughout August will be playing for the inaugural Chris Hughes Memorial Trophy.
The event is being sponsored by AJM Comms, based in Nantwich, and there will be two raffles, including one for a new mobile phone.
Among the guests at the quiz will be Eggheads Kevin Ashman, Judith Keppel, Barry Simmons and Pat Gibson.
A spokesperson for The Cat said: “Can anyone beat the Eggheads? £30 of Market Money says they don’t!
“We’re looking to spread the word about this event as far as we can to help celebrate a local man and much-loved quizzer, and to raise as much money as we can for a fine, fine cause.”
