Nantwich Bookshop & Coffee Lounge will be raising a glass to Germany’s most famous festival when it hosts a special ‘Oktoberfest Supper Club’, writes Jonathan White.

The event at the High Street venue will take place on Wednesday 22nd October.

The evening will be a celebration of Bavarian flavours, with a mouth-watering menu inspired by the world’s biggest beer festival.

Guests can look forward to a Kartoffelpuffer starter – traditional potato pancakes served with apple sauce and cured salmon – followed by a main course of Eisbein with garlic and rosemary sautéed potatoes, beer gravy and a fresh side salad.

To round off the evening, there’s the classic German dessert, Apfelstrudel served with vanilla ice cream.

Oktoberfest itself is the world’s largest folk festival, held annually in Munich, attracting millions of visitors from across the globe.

Tickets are £40 with doors opening at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start.

Denise Lawson, co-owner of Nantwich Bookshop, said: “We’re so excited to bring a slice of Oktoberfest to Nantwich.

“It’s all about good food, good company and a real sense of celebration – so dust off your lederhosen, come hungry, and join us for a fun evening with a Bavarian twist!”
