Sarah crossing the winning line in Trafford 10k

A Nantwich runner won the Trafford 10k in a personal best time to complete a successful couple of months.

Sarah Dufour-Jackson clocked an impressive 32 mins 34 secs, smashing her PB by 35 seconds.

It puts the Vale Royal athlete 17th in the UK rankings this year, just below well known GB athletes like Samantha Harrison and others.

And it crowns a fine few weeks which has seen Sarah represent England for the first time at the Home Nations Championships with the Senior Women team in the 5k race.

The former Malbank School and Sixth Form student was also part of the team who won the Women’s 4 stage National Road Relays at Sutton Coldfield in October alongside Grace Roberts, Darcey Murphy, and Holly Weedall.

Sarah said: “For such a small club like Vale Royal against the rest of the clubs in the country, that was pretty big!

“I want to thank coach to Stu Doyle and Vale Royal as a club.

“Stu has inputted into my training over the last year or so but only officially got his coaching certificate recently and without his input and advice I don’t think I’d be where I am.

“So, for a relatively new to the game coach, he’s definitely helped me massively.”

Sarah has gone from a 34:05 10k time to a 32:34 10k personal best, and 16:22 5k to 15:44 5k in less than a year.
