Police helicopter (creative commons licence)

A police helicopter helped officers trace a missing man in Nantwich in the middle of the night.

Residents reported hearing the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter for around 30 minutes flying above Nantwich and Stapeley at around midnight.

The missing men, from Wistaston, was found after a two-hour search.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 10.36pm on Thursday 30 October, police were called to concerns for the welfare of a man who was reported missing from the Wistaston area.

“Officers, with help from NPAS, located the man at around 12.40am on Friday 31 October in the Nantwich area.”
