C&N 1sts beat Aston - pic by Tony Pennance

Crewe & Nantwich 1XV marked their second home game of the season in style with a strong all-round performance and a convincing 52-14 win over Aston Old Edwardians.

The 1sts controlled the match throughout, showing good tempo, physicality, and organisation both in attack and defence.

Joe Gamage collected a hat-trick of tries with other scores coming from Josh McShane, captain Eli Woodward, Ieuan Paske, vice-captain Rhys Price and Ross Harding-Pendlebury.

And in defence Crewe & Nantwich were disciplined and composed, limiting opportunities and keeping the visitors under sustained pressure from start to finish.

The performance means Crewe are now top of Counties 1 Midland West (North) winning all six games played so far.

Player of the Match was awarded to Josh McShane for an outstanding shift in both attack and defence.

They face a tough away fixture at third-placed Shrewsbury next, on Saturday November 22nd.

Crewe & Nantwich 2nds travelled away to Firwood Waterloo 2nds and were edged out in a close contest, narrowly defeated 21–19.

And the 3rd team welcomed Whitchurch 3rds in a friendly and despite the result not going their way, valuable minutes were gained, and the effort and attitude across the side remained strong.

Crewe & Nantwich Women put in a massive performance on the road to come away with a 17–29 victory at Didsbury.

In a close and physical encounter, both sides battled hard through the first hour, with Crewe having to dig deep to stay in front.

The final 20 minutes saw the squad step up the intensity, control the tempo, and run away with the game.

Tries came from Jordan Morris, Beth Wade, Megan Smith, and two from Chelsea Hobbs, showing the depth of threat across the team.
