Residents and businesses near Wrenbury have arranged a community meeting to resolve flooding problems cutting off rural villages.
The meeting will be held in Marbury where residents are calling for urgent action over flooding at the junction of Wrenbury Road, New Road and Hollyhurst Road in Marley Green.
They say ongoing flooding is affecting one of the main access routes into the village of Marbury, impacting residents and local businesses.
Katie, at The Swan Inn in Marbury, said: “Despite repeated pumping, the road is becoming impassable again within hours, causing disruption to daily life, local trade, and raising serious concerns over emergency access and road safety.”
Now they have arranged a community meeting at The Swan next Friday 16th January where residents and business owners will meet to discuss the issue and try and find short-term and long-term solutions.
Relevant authorities have been invited, including Marbury Parish Council, Wrenbury Parish Council, Cheshire East Highways and local MP Aphra Brandreth.

We live in Marbury opposite the Swan car park. John has vascular dementia and I am disabled, we are both in our 70’s between us we have to go to the doctor’s in Wrenbury quite often and it’s a nightmare to get through School lane way and the flooding. We also have a carer once a week and before Christmas and up to now they have rang to cancel 6 times because they couldn’t get through the flood and didn’t know how to get to us any other way. Family and friends hate visiting us because of the potholes, floods and mud.
We are unable to get to meetings so could someone email us to keep us updated please.
