scholarships for Ukrainians

Education is the foundation of progress and an investment in the future.

For young people facing life challenges, access to high-quality learning often becomes the only real way to rebuild their professional path.

Therefore, the mission of scholarship programmes is essential. How does one become a participant in one of them?

Academic challenges in the shadow of war
The tragic situation in Ukraine affects daily life, economic stability, and the continuity of academic development.

The war has caused a crisis limiting possibilities for research and professional careers.

Scientists and students lose access to infrastructure and resources, and in a country engulfed by conflict, prospects for development can be nearly non-existent.

In this context, initiatives offering stability are crucial. The scholarship for Ukrainian citizens at the Mieroszewski Centre responds to these needs, giving young talents a chance to continue education and conduct research in a safe environment.

Financial support – where to start?
The Mieroszewski Centre supports activities for the peoples of Eastern Europe and offers two development paths within its scholarship programmes:

● research scholarship – a four-month programme for young scholars from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and the EU, whose aim is to deepen knowledge and gain experience in scientific work in Poland,
● research in Ukraine – a scholarship for Ukrainian researchers conducting scientific activities in their country despite the war.

To become a participant, one should monitor recruitments. The Centre encourages signing up for the scholarship newsletter, which helps avoid missing announcements and enables submitting an application on time.

The selection of scholarship recipients is made by a specially appointed committee.

The main benefits
Joining the Mieroszewski Centre scholarship programme provides more than financial support.

It offers a stable environment essential for continuing a scientific career interrupted by the war.

Participants receive access to infrastructure, scientific resources, and a network of contacts in Poland, all crucial for developing their potential.

Active participation translates into future professional prospects.

It is an investment in stability, skills development, and – in the broader perspective – in the reconstruction and better future of Ukraine.
