Nantwich Town have reached the semi-finals of the Cheshire Senior Cup after a deserved 2-0 win over holders Runcorn Linnets in the quarter-finals.
Goals from Callum Saunders and Alex Panter helped the Dabbers to victory.
It was the last game for Marc Feighery as interim manager following the departure of Jon Moran. New Luke Goddard will take over the reins with Feighery moving to position of head coach.
Nantwich started quickly and could have been 1-0 up on three minutes when Panter found space in the box and fired against the upright.
Both sides created half chances in a tight first half which ended goalless.
James Steele almost gave Runcorn the lead four minutes after the restart but blazed a golden opportunity wide.
Aidy Roxburgh and Panter also had chances for Nantwich early in the second half as both sides began to press for a winner.
Then Nantwich took the lead on 75 minutes when Saunders rose well to power a header home from a corner.

And 13 minutes later Panter sealed the win when he was free to slam home the second, giving the Runcorn keeper no chance.
Feighery said after the match: “The lads were terrific. It was a close game and could have gone either way.
“We changed the shape a bit in second half, threw Saunders on and give him a sniff he’ll score.
“We knew we had good players on the bench to bring on in the second half to add some energy around 60 minutes and that’s exactly what they did.”
