Nantwich Town face a trip to Shifnal to end February, hoping to build on their 2-2 draw with Trafford last weekend.
They may not have caught the attention of some of the other promoted teams like Bury and Lower Breck, but it’s still been an impressive first season in the NPL West for Shifnal.
Before the weekend they are 9th in Northern Premier League West and have never been in danger of relegation at any point.
For a while they were in play-off contention but since the start of 2026 there has been a drop off in form.
They haven’t won a league game since Boxing Day, a run of eight games.
That has included four straight defeats, to Sporting Khalsa, Stafford, Bury and Runcorn last time out.
It means the Dabbers have a chance to leapfrog Shifnal in the table with a win on Saturday.
Nantwich will be hoping to forget about the last minute equaliser they allowed for Trafford at home last Saturday.
The Dabbers were behind after 90 seconds through a Charlie Frost header.
But they showed fighting spirit to take the lead 2-1 when Ollie Southern put through his own goal, and a Byron Harrison on stroke of half-time.
Nantwich looked to be holding on until the visitors levelled on 89 minutes when Garratt spilled a shot and Mackena Bradshaw scored for Trafford.
The Dabbers are currently 10th on 44 points – 10 points behind the play-off places.
