Sally Burns has been appointed as the founding Head of School at the new Kingsbourne Academy in Nantwich.
The new primary school is currently being built in Nantwich and is due to open in September 2026.
Sally joins Kingsbourne from Pebble Brook Primary School in Crewe, where she is currently assistant headteacher.
She brings more than 16 years of experience in primary education, including over a decade in senior leadership.
Throughout her career, Sally has placed children at the centre of her leadership, with a strong track record in school improvement, curriculum development and developing staff capacity.
In her current role, Sally holds whole-school responsibility for teaching and learning, curriculum development, assessment and data, staff development, safeguarding and school improvement.
Sally said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Kingsbourne Academy as its founding Head of School.
“It is a real privilege to have the opportunity to help shape a brand-new school and build a thriving community for children and families in Nantwich.
“I’m very much looking forward to building our staff team and meeting the families whose children will be among the first to begin their journey at Kingsbourne.”

Kingsbourne Academy is currently under construction and the build is progressing with the school on track to open to its first Reception class pupils in September 2026.
The Trust is also currently recruiting a Class Teacher to join the founding staff team at Kingsbourne Academy.
