Three dairy queen young farmer friends - charity walk

A young Nantwich woman is teaming up with other young farmers across Cheshire for a 54-mile walk in aid of charity.

Grace Barber, 19, has donned her walking boots and setting off today on a three-day hike around the county.

She will be joined by fellow Cheshire Young Farmers Dairy Queens Annie Newport and Lara Dicesare.

The group are hoping to reach a fundraising target of £5,000 for The Yellow Wellies Farm Safety Foundation and The Little Princess Trust.

As part of their efforts, the trio will also be having all their hair cut off and donating it to the Little Princess Trust at the Cheshire YFC rally in May.

Grace (pictured above, on the right), a former Wistaston Church Lane Primary and Sandbach High School student, is part of Middlewich Young Farmers which she joined at 14.

She is currently Middlewich YFC secretary. Annie is a past chairlady of Middlewich YFC, and Lara Dicesare is current chairlady of Macclesfield YFC.

All three are the current Cheshire Dairy Queens representing Cheshire Young Farmers.

They said: “We are going to be enduring a three-day sponsored walk around Cheshire, visiting each club on 10th-12th April 2026, in aid of our chosen charities, The Yellow Wellies Farm Safety Foundation and The Little Princess Trust.

“The Yellow Wellies is an agricultural charity which aims to raise awareness around farm safety and mental health in agriculture, a charity which is close to our hearts, as well as the wider rural community.

“The Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides free, real hair wigs for children and young adults who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other health conditions.

“In May 2026 (Cheshire YFC Rally Day) we will be cutting our hair as a donation, along with money raised throughout the year.

“Please support us as we smile with every stride and endure the big hair chop. We are grateful for any donations, big or small!

“We look forward to raising awareness for such amazing charities whilst wearing are sashes and smiles!”
