The “Farmer’s Pants” cycle rides have made a return kicking off another season of fun, fitness, and community spirit, writes Jonathan White.
The free 11-mile cycling loop starts from Marsh Lane in Ravensmoor and true to its name, the route is shaped like a giant pair of underpants!
Open to riders of all ages and abilities, The Farmer’s Pants is as relaxed or as challenging as you want it to be.
The leisurely ride goes through the countryside, scenic back roads and finishes near the Farmers Arms pub.
Founder Paul McIntyre said: “It’s brilliant to see so many people back out enjoying the ride again.
“The Farmer’s Pants is all about getting people moving, having a laugh, and supporting each other — we’d love to welcome even more riders throughout the season.”
The ride also continues to raise awareness for men’s health and mental health charities, including those supporting prostate and testicular cancer causes.
Taking place most Fridays at 6pm throughout spring and summer, the ride is timed so everyone can enjoy it before dark.
Participants should wear a helmet, ensure their bike is roadworthy, follow road laws, respect the countryside, and look out for fellow riders.
