A support service for people in Nantwich and a dog rescue charity have each received a funding boost.
Re-Enabled Support Services and Pawprints to Freedom each received a £300 community donation from David Wilson Homes.
Re-Enabled Support Services, which promotes independence and community integration for people in need of specialist care, has used the donation to fund social activities.
The Nantwich-based care provider delivers support to individuals with complex mental health needs and learning disabilities.
Primrose Betera, manager at Re-Enabled Support Services, said: “Partnerships like this demonstrate the power of collaboration in strengthening local communities.
“This contribution has enabled us to expand our social engagement activities, creating meaningful experiences that build confidence, reduce isolation and promote overall wellbeing.”
The organisation currently takes care of 13 clients across Cheshire East and Cheshire West.
Primrose added: “Our service user and family events focus on togetherness, social inclusion and strengthening family relationships in a relaxed and supportive environment.”
Nantwich-based Pawprints to Freedom’s team of volunteers works to prevent suffering and improve welfare conditions for dogs.
The registered charity operates primarily in Romania, rescuing dogs from kill shelters and other horrific situations, before rehoming them in the UK.
Laura Day, director at Pawprints to Freedom, said: “The recent donation will be used directly to support the dogs in the charity’s care, helping to fund veterinary treatment, food, training, enrichment and essential kennel costs.
“In addition to our ongoing work, Pawprints to Freedom is currently building a new shelter in Romania, which will improve welfare standards and increase capacity to help dogs most in need.”

I think people who walk around with dogs in pushchairs like babies need a psychiatric evaluation in all honesty.
I cannot see why dogs are on the same level of humans here, many dog owners have increased now to sheer ridiculous proportions they overrun every area of the town and have ruined it over the last 5 yrs the fact dogs are being abandoned is that their owners fail to train or even have a clue how to look after one, hence the need for dog charities Meanwhile the good dog owners adopt some of these mutts over having a puppy which makes far more sense
