Crewe & Nantwich RUFC were too strong for Ashbourne in the final warm-up game before their new league campaign kicks off.
It was great preparation for Crewe, who switch leagues this season to play in Midlands 2 West (North) division.
And the victory follows on from the side’s impressive 48-8 hammering of Ashton-on-Mersey in the Cheshire Vase last weekend.
Crewe ran in ten tries against Ashbourne, five in each half, to cement their dominance.
But the visitors started strongly, controlling possession and territory for the first 15 minutes and scoring a try wide out.
Crewe soaked up the pressure then took control of the game going through the phases, playing dynamic attacking rugby, keeping the ball in hand.
And the hosts’ superior fitness began to tell half an hour into the match as the relentless pressure took its toll on Ashbourne.
Scrum and line-out was again dominant and the pods worked hard to support the many back handling movements with backs and forwards scoring freely.
1st team captain Niall McGregor said: “Consistency is the key to a long league campaign and we are far from fulfilling our potential yet, so we now take each game as it comes and improve accordingly.”
Man of the match was Josh Collins, with great performances from Eli, Aaron, Jamie and new boy Joe.
Debutant Ricky Grey also impressed as did Mark Thomasson.
There are still plenty of areas for improvement and the real rugby starts next Saturday against Stafford at home, kick off 3pm.
