An exhibition featuring local artists has opened at the Bailey Arts Gallery at Dagfields Farm in Nantwich.

The exhibition, which runs until July 7, features the work of six artists who make up the group “Art Up Close”.

Artists featured include celebrated sculptor Tony Evans, Mark Sheeky, Mark Edmonds, Jo Thilwind, Ann Roach, and Diana Tackley.

The 2011 Nantwich Festival of Arts sparked plans for the new “Art Up Close” group which now boasts 100 members whose work demonstrates wide variety of styles and subjects.

MarkSheeky, SelfPortraitAsPhilosopherLindsey Piper, of Art Up Close, said: “We are thrilled that Graham Finch at Bailey Arts is providing us with an opportunity to exhibit the work of a small collection of our artists.

“We hope the local community will continue to show us the great support we have received so far by visiting the exhibition and enjoying our work.”

Eloise Saunders, of Bailey Arts, said: “Bailey Arts have always supported local artists and where possible helped develop their careers and build their audience.

“Working with Art Up Close has given us the opportunity to expand on the range of home-bred talent we are able to offer our visitors and create stronger relationships with the local artistic community.”
