Tarporley High School has been selected to become a National Teaching School.
Tarporley is one of only 60 schools in England to be granted the status.
Teaching Schools take a leading role in recruiting and training new entrants to the profession.
They aim to identify leadership potential and provide support for other schools.
Introduced in 2011, Teaching Schools are all rated as “outstanding.”
Sarah Lee, from Tarporley High School, said: “Tarporley High School has a proud tradition of training excellent teachers, developing outstanding school leaders and working closely in partnership with other schools to improve teaching and learning.
“I am delighted we have achieved national recognition from Ofsted and the government for our outstanding performance.
“Our selection to become a National Teaching School is great news for all of us here at Tarporley and for our partner schools.
“Together, we have a very exciting opportunity to grow and shape the very best teaching and learning for the future.”
The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) oversees the teaching schools programme.

“The school has been recognised as a centre of excellence in its area, with an outstanding performance and a track record of raising standards through supporting other schools.
“Teaching Schools are at the heart of an increasingly school-led system, leading the way in improving the quality of our teachers and helping the schools in their partnership to become even better.
“Like Teaching Hospitals, they have become centres of excellence across the country, conducting research and training teachers.”
