Nantwich councillor Arthur Moran saddled up dressed in orange – to help promote the town’s Tour of Britain stage.
Cllr Moran, who is Cheshire East Deputy Mayor, tried out one of the orange bikes being used to ‘peddle’ the message about the tour event.
A number of the bikes have appeared in Nantwich to advertise the 180km Tour of Britain cycle race taking place in the borough on September 6.
It is the first time Cheshire East has hosted an entire stage of the prestige event which starts in Congleton and ends in Knutsford, taking in Crewe and Nantwich.
Cheshire East is hosting stage three of the event and orange is the official colour for stage three.
As Nantwichnews revealed last month, leading cyclists will arrive in Nantwich along the A534 Crewe Road, past the Peacock pub and roundabout, at about midday on September 6.
From there, they will race down Crewe Road to the roundabout, turning right into Millstone Lane.
They will continue past Barony Park along Barony Road, up to the Reaseheath roundabout, before turning into B5074 Main Road and racing north towards Church Minshull.
Then they will turn right into Cross Lane and Brookhouse Lane, before re-joining the A530 Middlewich Road and head towards Middlewich.
