A woman was badly injured in a two-car collision on Nantwich Road in Wistaston.
Fire crews, police and paramedics were called out to the incident.
An outer cordon was set up by police as firefighters and paramedics assessed the condition of a woman in one of the cars.
She was cut free from the wreckage and released and handed into the care of ambulance crew before being taken to hospital.
The driver of the second car, a man, was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
The incident happened at around 1.15pm yesterday, Sunday December 18.
