A number of Nantwich an Crewe businesses have been shortlisted in the Taste Cheshire Awards.
A record number of votes have been cast in the 18th annual hospitality awards, with the winners announced at a ceremony on April 19 at Chester Racecourse.
Nantwich firms in the running include Bloom for ‘Best Sandwich Shop’, who won the same category in 2016 (pictured).
Also nominated are Enzo for ‘Best Cafe’, and Cheerbrook for ‘Best Local Produce Shop’.
A number of South Cheshire College students are shortlisted in the ‘Young Chef Challenge’.
Nearby Tarporley businesses are also shortlisted, including R F Burrows for ‘Best Sausage’, Little Tap for ‘Family Friendly Venue’, and Piste restaurant for ‘Best Small Restaurant’ and ‘Excellence in Customer Care’.
Taste Cheshire general manager Lisa Edwards said more than 40,000 votes were cast.
“Last year we exceeded 30,000 votes and we thought that would take some beating,” she said.
“But we have again exceeded that figure with another 25% increase.
“People simply love to vote for their favourite place to eat, drink and buy the best the county has to offer.
“Now comes the hard part for our judges!”
