young artists voting poster cheshire

A public vote has opened to find Cheshire’s best young artists.

More than 300 pupils entered the new dot-art schools competition and are hoping for votes to see their artwork on display at Mid Cheshire College.

The new Cheshire online inter-school contest gives primary and secondary pupils in Nantwich and Crewe a chance to showcase their artistic talents and have work displayed in an exhibition.

Judges have narrowed it down to their top three entries from each school ready for the public vote.

Artwork with the most votes from each participating school will form part of the two-week exhibition, which opens in June.

The shortlisting panel is made up of representatives from major arts and cultural institutions.

It includes Polly Brannan Education Curator at Liverpool Biennial, Sandra Penketh Director of Art Galleries at National Museums Liverpool and Professor Caroline Wilkinson, Director of the School of Art & Design at Liverpool John Moores University.

You can view the shortlist and vote online for work to see on show at Mid Cheshire College, Hartford at http://cheshire.schools.dot-art.com/vote

Voting opens today (April 3) and closes at midnight on Friday May 5.
