The Crewe and Nantwich Round Table Santa float raised a staggering £11,000 for local causes in just 15 days.
Round Table members today confirmed it was a record figure and issued a massive thanks to all volunteers who helped.
The float’s journey began on December 1 in Wrenbury and visited Shavington, Hough, Weston, Nantwich, Stapeley, Willaston, Wybunbury, Basford, Crewe town centre, Wychwood Park, and Worleston and Barbridge during the 15-day appeal.
And in the process it delighted thousands of youngsters who got to meeting Santa.
A Nantwich News appeal for more volunteers to come forward also helped bolster the number of people able to collect donations door to door.
Round Table spokesman Stephen Robb said: “I’m pleased to confirm we raised a new record amount of £11,016.80 which will be donated to local charities and good causes.
“This was achieved over 15 nights, three full days and more than 110 miles walked by members and volunteers.
“A massive thank you to everybody as we couldn’t have done it without the support!”
