Big-hearted friends have helped raise thousands of pounds for two families devastated by a massive fire in Wrenbury near Nantwich.
A blaze which started in a garden shed spread to two houses on Sandfield Avenue in Wrenbury last weekend.
Householders managed to scramble clear to avoid tragedy, but the blaze has seriously damaged both homes, costing thousands of pounds.
Family friend Gemma Carroll is one of the people who set up the fundraising page to help them.
She said: “I have set this page up to help Duncan, his family and Margaret next door.
“He has experienced a devastating house fire that has left him with nothing but the clothes he was wearing.
“In just a matter of moments, he lost the home he had lived in for decades.
“He now faces the overwhelming task of starting over from scratch.
“Donations will help provide essential clothing, toiletries, food, household items, furniture, and everything needed to begin rebuilding his life and create a new home.
“Margaret has also experienced loss due to the fire as her roof and bedroom have been badly affected.
“Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference during this incredibly difficult time.

At the time of writing (Sunday July 26th) more than £4,700 had been raised towards an initial target of £6,500.
The fire began at around 2.30am on Saturday and appliances from Nantwich, Crewe, Chester, Winsford, Northwich and Middlewich, plus the aerial ladder platform from Chester, the Incident Command Unit and support from Shropshire and Staffordshire fire and recue service all attended.
Fire crews said at the time they believed the blaze may have involved gas canisters but have not revealed the exact cause.
Residents from neighbouring properties were evacuated while firefighters tackled the blaze.
