A knife-wielding robber threatened staff in a raid on a South Cheshire off licence, police said.
The armed robbery happened at the Bargain Booze outlet on Hungerford Road in Crewe.
The offender ran into the store at around 8.55pm on Tuesday (October 16) carrying a large knife.
He threatened a member of staff with the knife and demanded money from the till.
He then fled on foot with a quantity of cash in the direction of Macon Way.
He was wearing a black-hooded top and a black woollen hat and the bottom half of his face was covered.
The offender is described as white, aged late 20s and around 5ft 10in. He was thin and had a local accent.
Inquiries are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone who believes they may have seen the offender before or after he went into the shop to get in touch.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the offender or may know who he is.
Detective Sergeant Steve Smith said: “The member of staff who was threatened by the knife has understandably been left extremely shaken up.
“She was subjected to a terrifying ordeal and we are determined to catch the offender and bring him to justice.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I urge anyone with any information or footage that may help our investigation to come forward.
“If you saw anything suspicious in the area or think you may know the identify of the offender, or have dashcam or CCTV footage of him, please get in touch.”
