Thousands enjoyed the second annual ‘Lumen – Crewe’s Night of Lights’ in Crewe town centre on Friday.
For one night only, crowds were treated to a spectacular Night of Lights in Crewe with a jaw-dropping performance by the Heliosphere.
There was the launch of the new projection mapping show on the Municipal Building, innovative light and sound installations and even Santa.
Youngsters took part in a lantern parade from Queensway (nr Topshop).
There were 200 lanterns given to children and adults taking part.
The parade was led through the streets by Rhythms of the City, a samba percussion squad.
Switch-on was at 6.30pm in Memorial Square.
The Heliosphere performance featured an aerialist flying above the crowd suspended from a giant balloon.
There was also Santa’s Grotto. Wave-Field, interactive sound and light seesaws, Giant inflatable lights, a Winter market with food and craft stalls by Taste Cheshire, Funfair and Fireworks.
The projection, with accompanying soundtrack, will play every evening until December 27 on the Municipal Building, Memorial Square.
