creation window st mary's church smashed

A thug has smashed the stunning “creation window” at St Mary’s Church in Nantwich.

The vandal threw a beer bottle at the window from the outside, damaging a section on the right-side of the window (pictured).

The window was given in memory of Albert Bourne, a local farmer, and was installed in 1984.

It has been a popular attraction for visitors to the Grade 1 Listed building on Church Lane.

A disappointed Rev Mark Hart posted pictures of the damaged windows on Facebook.

He said: “It will be repaired.”

  1. He/she/they should be made to pay for repairs & do community service.. Disgusting mindless thuggery..

  2. As sad as the damage is to any of the windows, imagine the horror of it being one of the older panes of glass, they would be irreplaceable.
Personally if I ruled the world I would ban sales of glass bottles. Too many morons about

I agree, when he is caught make him pay for the repairs and a hefty fine as well.

  5. I do hope this doesn’t result in protection wires on the outside. Nantwich evaded shutters on Shops for decades but they are creeping in. ( Some are more aesthetic than others , it would be good to have a higher Standard in an historic Market Town ) I would hope that Security captures it and makes the person pay and places that picture around the Town for all to see and know.

    Make him pay for it
