The annual Slazenger South and Mid Cheshire Tennis League Presentation Day and tournaments took place at Nantwich Tennis Club in memory of former league secretary.
The event was renamed the “John White Presentation Day” in memory of John who died last July, aged 80, from cancer.
Prior to and during his retirement from the education sector, John White was secretary of the South & Mid Cheshire Tennis League for over 30 years.
He had received the Honorary County Colours from the Cheshire Lawn Tennis Association for his long-standing services to the South and Mid Cheshire Tennis League.
Players wore a white item of clothing in memory of John White.
And the League invited the White family to attend the event and they were represented by youngest son, Jonathan.
Tournaments were two mixed and one men’s open doubles and involved 28 players from a variety of local clubs.
Refreshments were followed by presentation of trophies from the league competitions (see winners list below).
