Bagnall Norton CC swept to back to back promotions with a comprehensive win over Woore CC, the only team who in theory could have overtaken them.

Woore remain in second position, but a second consecutive defeat leaves them just three points ahead of third placed Sandyford with three matches remaining.

The win means Woore are in second place on 228 points at the halfway stage of the season, a lead of 59 points on third placed Sandyford and 22 points behind leaders Bagnall Norton.

12-year-old Woore CC batsman hits unbeaten 70 against Crewe

Twelve-year-old Matthew Kenvyn scored his first ever 50 in men’s cricket when he opened the batting for Woore CC 3rds against Crewe.

Although Woore were beaten, the youngster scored a remarkable 70 not out having carried his bat throughout the innings in the Stone and District Sunday League.
