Cheshire East planning officers are urging councillors not to defend an appeal from Nightingale Land to build 75 homes in the open countryside at Nantwich.

The company wants to build the dwellings on a 3.83-hectare field off Broad Lane, in Stapeley.

A Nantwich housing application has been deferred for a second time for a traffic assessment – with a parish councillor warning “until there’s a fatality, nobody’s going to take us seriously”.

The proposal from Nightingale Land for up to 75 homes off Broad Lane was deferred earlier this month by the strategic planning board (SPB) for a traffic assessment to identify any cumulative impact.
